This CD player is very, very un-reliable. I purchased this CD player to be the cenral piece of my car stereo. From many people I had heard how good Blaupunkt was, how wrong they were. I have had nothing but problems with this head unit. First of all when you "attempt" to raise or lower the volume you find out something very interesting. When you spin the volume wheel down the volume goes up sometimes and down sometimes and other times does not effect the volume at all, and vice versa for when you are trying to raise the volume. This device is also horrendous at reading CD-R's or any compact disc with the slightest of scratches on it. CD's that will play in my six year old bottom of the line CD changer in my house will almost never work when i get them to the car. For whatever reason the laser seems to be really weak and skips a whole lot, or says disc error. At which point the CD becomes jammed inside the unit and you need to turn the power on and off a few times and open the CD flap a few more times. Now if you are lucky you will get the CD out, if not you have to pull the disc out with tweezers. The unit also supposedly has an "on volume" adjustment, where you can supposedly choose the volume at which you would like your unit to come on at when the car starts up. This has not worked once, ever. I have reset it many times and tried just turning the power of the unit off, nevermind the cars main power. This CD player is seriously flawed, and I wrote a letter of complaint to the Blaupunkt company which was never responded to (email or regular mail). I am not sure if this is a worthless company all together or that it is just the middle and bottom of the market products that are this unreliable.
