Pros: Excellent sound quality, form factor, features and radio reception. Appealing design.
Cons: Expensive (about $500 in April 2001). Single-CD only.
The Bottom Line: If you're willing to spend a little for sound quality and style, you can't go wrong.

| atabibia's Full Review: Nakamichi Soundspace 1 CD Shelf System |
Get this system if you'd like one piece of equipment to solve your radio, CD and alarm requirements and your willing to pay a little extra for significantly above-average sound, features and design.
You'll find this units footprint quite small and flexible because it is upright and the speakers are separated. It probably consumes 1/3 the footprint of a typical boombox and is much more stylish and will add your home decor rather than be an eyesore.
CD functionality is easy to use, the only typical bell/whistle missing (at least I can't find it)is an intra-track fast forward. The AM/FM radio, especially the AM, is much better that what you normally find, and this is a key distinguishing feature compared to any home system which typically skimps on the radio. The alarm features are very handy, although the box is a little footprint is a little to big for anything but a large nightstand. There is an error in the Alarm setting instructions, email me if you buy one and have a problem.
Sound quality is on par with a low-end audiophile system. Plenty more than recreational listeners need.
