New reference standard in DVD players

Pros: THX Ultra Certified, Progresive Scan(Pure Cinema), DVD-Audio, 24/96 D/A, 24/192 D/A, CD-RW. Well Built
Cons: no SACD, no digital out for DVD-Audio
The Bottom Line: You can't find a better dvd player

First off let me say that I have been researching for that perfect DVD player for the last 2 years. My first DVD players was the highly acclaimed Sony S7000, but as new technology has arrived, a new dvd player will be required. So, I first looked at the State of the art DV-09 from Pioneer Elite, and was steered away because the newer technologies like progressive scan and DVD-audio(don't get me wrong this player is a tank and if it had progresive scan it would be the best player ever!). After that I looked at the Denon 5000, a similar player to the pioneer: THX certified, DD DTS , audio converters etc. But No PROGRESSIVE SCAN!
By this time the new Sony ES dvd player(SACD, progressive scan) came around it was time to go demo again. Was impressed, but I still wanted more for that price(1500). The sales men said "if you liked that and wantd the best performer we have..." Finally the Pioneer Elite DV-38a(THX Certified, DVD-audio, Progressive Scan).
Comparison
-Pioneer Picture kills the sony
-Sound about equil
-Progressive scan better on Pioneer
-Cd playback better on sony through analog out
-Cd playback better on pioneer through digital out
-Build quility is good on both, maybe a little better on the pioneer
-Pioneer has a beautiful finish(Piano Black and rosewood panles.
-About same price
Pioneer is the leader in DVD player technology
-DV-05 THX
-DV-09 THX Refrence standard for almost 3 years
-DV-37 Progressive scan
-DV-38a THX Progressive scan, DVD audio new refrence standard
