I got this for Christmas, and I've been playing with it ever since. It's got decent features...here's a rundown of the most commonly used:
Nightshot: Amazing...simply amazing
Steadyshot: So-So performace. Don't expect to turn your two year old into Stanley Kubrick with this feature
Backlight: Pretty nice, but when you're outside it sometimes becomes useless in direct sunlight
Digital zoom: Not too pleased with this one. The quality is pretty poor when you use the digital zoom. However the 20x regular zoom works great for almost everything.
The built in light is nice, and has different settings, and the unit as a whole is very easy to work with while recording. I like the size of the LCD screen, however the menu system beneath it is very clumsy and hard to get the hang of. The playback buttons need to be larger , and could be arranged in a better order. The viewfinder needs to be smaller, it sticks out about 1.5" from the back of the camera and needs to be able to push flush with the back for even more compactness. It's a bit on the heavy side in my opinion, making for tires arms, but the LCD screen let's you easily adjust to different recording heights. The LCD screen also inverts the image it shows you so that you can rotate it 180 degrees. This means if you want to shoot yourself, you can open the LCD, and flip it vertically so that you can see yourself while you record. Pretty neat feature. Overall it's a good little camera and the price was very acceptable.
