| drcrankenshaft's Full Review: Motorola Talkabout® T6320 (14 Channels) Two W... |
I have been using the Motorola T6320 for about a year now along with its sister unit the T6310. The T6320 is loaded with features that will be most useful for someone in the outdoors. It includes a compass, a barometer, a thermometer, an altimeter, a stopwatch and a weather radio. My son is in Boy Scouts and these radios have proven very useful for car to car communications while transporting groups of boys as well as for staying in touch with the boys while camping. Especially at summer camp when they are away for extended periods. Battery life has been very reasonable. The weather alert feature proved its worth to me during a family campout when it went off during the night to alert us of an approaching severe storm.
We also use them at the mall so we can go off in different directions and still stay in touch. It prevents the dreaded problem of having to trudge back across the mall to meet at the agreed upon time even though no one is ready to go. The scramble feature is employed by us at the mall as I don't want anyone to overhear one of my kids telling me where they are going to be. It just seems safer that way. The range is pretty good even in a mall.
My only gripe is the latch on the battery door. When the radio is clipped on my belt, the latch tends to catch on my jeans and unlatch. The door has dropped off a couple of times although I've not lost it yet. A small rubber band around the body of the unit solves the problem.
I also own a pair of Kenwood FRS radios and have had opportunities to try other bands as well. The T6320 is the best I've used so far.
