The radio is of small size and light weight and is easily carried in a shirt pocket or on your belt and it's sturdy enough to be dropped and hit and still work fine. I bought the radio to use on a ski trip and when I play paintball. I live in Tornado Alley and believed the automatic NOAA activation would be an assest when we're outside away from a radio or TV. I have found that living in a rural area means that unless you are on high ground the NOAA may not reach you. I also have not been able to find a headset that will work with the radio to use the VOX handsfree system. None of the stores I have been to, in a metropolitan midwest city, carry the headset and I have tried other brands with a 2.5mm jack, but with no sucess.
