I purchased a pair of Cobra FRS104's w/ charger for a recent trip to wine country and was completely disappointed. The range was pathetic, and worse - the channel button had no lock and was easy to accidentally bump. Cobra customer service was no help - fortunately Lowe's has great customer service and exchanged them-even without a receipt-for a pair of Motorola T6220's and WOW! I whole-heartedly recommed these! Less than $30 per radio and you get scan, weather, privacy channels, lockable face plate, decent battery life and EXCELLENT range-even in the city. In my opinion, this is THE buy for FRS radios, unless you need a greater range than 2 miles. The talk button should have been on the side, but you get used to the frontal location very quickly and it's a moot issue.
