Pros: DVD and VCR in one unit.
Cons: No Universal remote
The Bottom Line: Best value for the money. DVD and VCR quality are excellent. The only improvements would be to combine a dual VCR and DVD record capability.

I have been trying to find a reason to get rid of my old VCR and upgrade to a DVD player. Like many other people, I have a large collection of VHS tapes and did not wish to give them up. All the inputs to my TV were full (can't sacrifice my Son's N-64), so my options were limited.
Then I discovered DVD and VCR in one unit. I know of only two of these, and GoVideo had the better reputation. I was not disappointed in my choice.
Initial Setup
Simple. Disconnect the old VCR, plug the new unit in and let the autodiscovery pull all the information it needed about cable channels and time setting. My unit needed to have the time corrected for Daylight Savings, but everything elese was correctly configured.
DVD Setup
I don't have anything to compare to, but it was simple. The OSD is easy to navigate once you get used to the controller.
DVD Playback
Playback was easy and the quality is only limited by your display. In my case, the TV is a 27in Panasonic and I have no complaints. My one DVD does not have all the functions accessible, so I was not able to test the Angle of View feature, but all others worked well. I do not have a home theater setup, so I will not review the sound quality.
VCR Setup
Again, very simple. The OSD is easy.
VCR Playback
Put the tape in and it works. What more need be said? The autotracking feature is nice and playback of a well used tape seemed nice and crisp.
The DVD to VCR feature is a non-issue for me. I doubt I will ever use it, but it is nice to know it's there.
