Pros: Uses quality CD-R storage discs which you can pop out and view on your PC.
Cons: TOO MANY FEATURES! I Just want to take a Quality picture!
The Bottom Line: Althought I am satisfied with this camera, the CDR and the Wristguard, the camera has a delay of a second or two before it takes the picture. Fix This.

| Segrin's Full Review: Sony Mavica MVC-CD300 Digital Camera |
Well...First of all, the VERY BEST thing about buying a Digital Camera is that you DONT HAVE TO get the film developed, so take all the nude and racey pictures you like without having to show them to the pharmacist.
I bought this one when someone stole my SoNY F-55.
The MVD-CD camera comes in two models...one is the first model of it's type, and the newer one is a bit darker in color, and takes higher resolution pictures.
The MVD-CD200 takes pictures as high as 1600x1200
in resolution, and:
The MVD-CD300, which is a slightly newer model with not much difference, but it has a 2048x1600 hi-res.
Other picture resolutions are:
1600x1200 - 1600 (3:2) - 1024x768 - 640x480
It lacks the 800x600 resolution which is a bit of a dissapointment because it is a very standard and convenient moderate size for taking quality photo's or just a quick click.
There was a model before this with a CD-R drive, but it was HUGE and ugly. So the reason I replaced my F-55 with this was because I liked the idea of the built in CD-R storage drive, and especially it's NEW APPEARANCE. It fits into the camera much more nicely than the first SoNY CD-R model.
It takes a standard InfoLithium Large-Camera size battery which lasts 2 hours. It has the Time and Date built right in on startup.
Has alot of features that are built into professional analog camera's suck as 400/200/100 ISO film types.
It has a 'Noramal Camera Mode' for less experienced users, Movie Mode for taking quick video shots. 3 different modes for Indoors/Outdoors/and Other, all of which have several menu options for adjusting the shutter, brightness and color on the viewscreen. Then there is a standard playback mode to view what you have taken pictures of.
Backlit viewscreen. Auto/Manual focus.
Infrared pre-photo light.
Flash On/Off/or Auto
Has Redeye Reduction Flash mode.
Has wrist strap to keep from dropping and smashing the camera.
Oh and BEST OF ALL...you can pop the tiny CD-R's right out of your Camera and run them in your computer as long as you have DirectCD installed.

Yes
