| RicardoSantos's Full Review: Sony Walkman MZ-E900 Personal MiniDisc Player |
I bought my unit about 4 days ago and have been using it many hours per day. Apart from the battery lifetime (wich i've only recharged once) i think i already know every flaw on this md player.
Here goes: the earbuds have a lousy sound isolation , i can notice this by holding them against your ears and see the amount of bass that's just being trown away. Theres only one headphone connector (2 connectors would be very nice, this way you could connect some new earbuds to the extra connector and still have remote connected but not hangin in front off your shirt instead it could be in your trousers pocket) , there's no "program play" , while in pause the player sends an annoying bipping sound to your ears , also (and i think this is a stupid flaw) you cant for instance be hearing track number 7 and then go to the beginning of the disk (track 1) whitout going back all 7 tracks or ejecting the disk !! oh i forgot theres another way : listen all musics and when it reaches the end it will start over ( trust me this detail is a bit annoying , shouldnt the stop button really stop the disk and go to the beginning instead of performing this resume play????).
Thats all about SONY engineers's mistakes . Youre probably wondering : if the unit is so bad why did he buy it??.
Well i really dont think it's bad its just that i have to be very demmanding on a product this expensive. Overall this player is still great for me despite it's flaws . One thing you can do to improve the sound is to put a cushion on the earbuds there by reducing the loss of sound and also isolating your a little more from external sounds ;this cushions usually come with sony's earbuds but not with this ones they didnt (you can get them from some of your older earbuds and switch them to your new big and unconfortable mdr-e805 , enjoy yourself with the new amount of bass, it even look's like the groove system only without the groove earbuds.
The 40 second electronic shock protection (16 mb ram) feature is great the sound quality is also good (better than most discmans i've heard), this unit is undoubtly very pretty and the light on teh remote makes you wanna hear all your music in the dark...
One thing left to say: damn it's small!!!!!!! ;)
