Recently I bought a portable Phillips MP3 Cd player to take my music from my computer on the go. Upon trying to connect the Phillips to my Car stereo, I found out the old Pioneer was proprietary and therefore incompatible.
I did my research for CD/MP3 Player for the car. Came up with less than 10. Aiwa - not in my car, Kenwood - why would I give them the time of day, and the others where units that were compatible between home (computer) and car. That would be nice, but required some obtrusive mounting, and where rather pricy(a hybrid for home and car with all equipment ran around $500). I decided against it despite the hard drive space on it that was virtually only limited to your wallet's girth.
Initially I was ready to wait for other players to come about, as the JVC was running 400 dollars retail. However, when I got to surfing e-bay one night I realized that there were individual sellers offering the unit starting at $270 new sealed in box. I jumped on it. Aprox Three Days later I had my JVC KD-SH99. It was as easy as any other deck to install, and by now I've gotten fairly quick.
I have had it in for two days and burnt a couple CD's; at 11 hours a piece who needs to burn many MP3 disks?
It's sound betters my HUGE!!! home stereo, comprised of a JVC deck, sound coming from a Sound Blaster Live! to 2 Cerwin Vega 12" and a surround sound system. I could not be more extatic with my purchase. You'll find a completely customizable 3 band EQ with 3 freq's for each band to do with as you please, an display adjustable via illumination and contrast, subwoofer output with adjustable gain on deck, 2 pre outs (with an option to turn the deck amp on and off via the deck), a remote that covers nearly all deck controllable functions, a rotating face to four positions, pop out rotary volume, CD changer control abilities, and finally dvd/vcr control abilities should you decide to purchase one of those accesories. I can not say enough good things about this product.
The seller I purchased this deck from was Oklahomasale on e-bay, should you like to check for another of these items or any of the other items they sell. They have a great feedback rating, and good prices.
