Pros: Price, Sound, Quality of Product
Cons: None for the price tag of $115
I have a mid-high end system with an Adcom 565 preamp, and two 565 mono block amps with Dahlquist DQ20 speakers and my Marantz CD Player bit the dust. I want the Adcom CD Player mind you but don't have the $1000 and need something to fill in in the meantime. This CD Player does so admirably for a little over $100. Even though it has a 1 bit DAC, and my Marantz CD46 had 16 bit, the overall soundstage, imaging and transparency are just about as good as the Marantz CD46 which I paid $250 for and mothballed for about 4 years and used for a total of a little over a year and sparingly at that as I had a newborn child at the time so music wasn't a priority. Hope the Sony reliability proves better than the Marantz but even if it breaks after the one year warranty, I could buy 2 of them and still have change as opposed to the Marantz. Anyway - am not a stereo snob but more of an avid listener to Blues, Jazz and Classical music. Would rather be at the show but my stereo is next best thing. I'm not in it for the technology. Hope this helps. This changer is a good deal.
