Pros: Great sound while it works. Good price.
Cons: Lasted only 1.5 years. JBL has horrible service.
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend this sub due to its horrible durability and poor support by JBL.

| casten's Full Review: JBL PB12 Subwoofer Speaker |
I really liked my PB12 while it worked. I used it for my home theater setup and about a year and a half after I bought it, it died. When it is powered on, it makes deafening popping and crackling noises. I tried to contact JBL, but they never replied to my emails. I just sent another one recently, but I don't know why I continue to try.. this is the 4th or 5th attempt.
It is interesting because other reviews on the web say other people have problems too, but the reviews here on epinions are all very positive without the complaints I see elsewhere on the web. Well, here is a negative one.
I do not know if it is true, but other reviews on the web say that JBL does not sell replacement modules for the speaker. If I could get a hold of them, I would verify this. I guess I can call their non toll free support number.
If you are going to buy this sub, be sure to get an extended warranty, it will be well worth it. I would get a warranty for as long as you would like it to work. Had I known this, I would have gotten a 3-5 year warranty... a $250 amp should last longer than 1.5 years.
Otherwise I was very happy with the amp while it worked. I just wish it could have hung in there for a few more years.
