Pros: Fast rewind, good price
Cons: a bit flimsy, poor remote
The Bottom Line: It's a good VCR for the price, but if you want a nice VCR for your system, I would look to a higher end unit.

| tlcoulson's Full Review: Sony SLV-N51 VHS VCR |
I needed a cheap, second VCR. Mainly for recording shows on different channels while I am traveling. (It's a long story why the other VCR can't do that without major hassle). So I went to the store to check out the lower end models and found a Sony among them. I love Sony's products (as you can tell from my other reviews) so I went ahead and bought it. Expecting a lower end model since that's what I bought, I was pleased with some of the features including a 60 second rewind and a commercial skip button (skips 30 sec for each push). The housing is made of a flimsy plastic however and while handling it, it feels as though you could crush it! The sound and picture are nice, probably better than I expected for the price. As I saw in another review for this item, the remote is not very good. I agree with that review in that it is easy to push buttons you didn't mean to push. It's adequate for my use, but I wouldn't recommend it as your primary VCR.
