Pros:great player for multi CD/DVD system
Cons:not an MP3 player.. no backlit remote no channel surf from DVD remote
The Bottom Line: Component home theater enthusiasts should buy this system . Awesome sound and picture quality for both CD and DVD outputs. Same system plays CDs/DVDs/ VCDS .

I recently bought this amazing product. I am planning of assembling my dream home theater system. this will be one of the major components.
The whole idea of buying this DVD changer is that it can play CD-RW/DVD/Video CDs.
SO I want this to be part of my home theater system. In that case I do not have to buy a separate CD Player. The changer will let me play many of my favourite music CDs mix and match also Video CDs which usuallt take two discs for a small movie can be all put in together and no hassle of changing the discs once the movie goes to the next disc. The audio and video output is great. When put to my yamaha amplifier it sounded like heaven.
Has all the dolby decoders. dolby digital/pro-logic/DTS and also virtual surround for the TV speakers. allows to easily configure the audio output to simulate surround depending on whether ur sending audio to Tv or dolby receiver. helpful on-screen commands.

The only problem i faced was that since I had a sony TV with PIP I wanted to see both the DVD movie and my TV channel with PIP(Picture in Picture). Couldn't surf the channels from the DVD remote as it doesn't have a channel surfer button and the sony TV remote although claimed to be universal i had major pain to configure it to recognise my DVD. it always goes to my SONY VCR. I guess the whole idea was to have sony products so that one universal remote of the TV can do the magic.

Anyway leaving all that aside. the picture clarity and audio clarity is really great. Easy to operate and the remote supports all the major features of skipping between discs and changing them.

I would highly encourage component home theater enthusiasts to buy this system but that doesn't mean that I discourage the portable home theater buyers.

Although it doesn't have progressive scan but then I am not buying a HDTV at this moment.
