Pros: Tight and accurate bass. Backed up with Polk experience and quality.
Cons: 50W amp is not very powerful. Performance highly depends upon the location. Poor instruction.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a sub-woofer for a small to medium size listening space.

| smilygo's Full Review: Polk Audio PSW250 Subwoofer Speaker |
I have looked various Webs and stores for a subwoofer for my music. I have Polk RT 800 with JVC receiver and JVC CD player. Polk RT800 provides excellent mid and high, but defenitely lacks serious bass. My music includes a wide range of music including Van Halen, Maria Calas, Ice Cube and Brian Cullbertson. I compared PSW250 against Sony's 8" sub and KLH's 8" sub, both were on sale for $99 at local retailer. Sony and KLH were very boomy. PSW250 was very tight and accurate even though the price was $169. The difference in sound quality and the overall construction quality were enough to justify the $70 price difference. I am very pleased with PSW250. For a 8" system, it provides very healthy amount of bass. My living room is not big and PSW250 fills the room with nice and mellow bass. For $169 (actually, the regular price is $249), it was a great value. My only complain is its poor instruction. It has line inputs, but the intruction doesn't explain how I can use it. It only recommends the standard wire connection. My amp has a sub-woofer output and I wonder if I could use a line split cable to do the connection.
