The Polk db3065's are the one of the best component sets that I have listened to in a long time. The quality rivals that of some home stereos thanks to the top of the line crossover networks. The speakers aren't pansies either. The tweeters are constructed of silk which means to all of us audiophile incredibly smooth highs that even make the birds sing. The midrange and bass come through with accuracy that was once only know to studios, so smooth and rich, unfiltered, playing every note.
They can stand alone until you get your hands on a pair of subs and an amp if you don't own one. You should always work from your head unit down and the next step if you have one is to purchase a decent set of mids and highs. With the use of these of exceptional quality you will hear detail so stunning that you'll think the singers are right in front of you and the music there to accompany them.
The price is also relatively low for a component set of this fine caliber. Your ears will be grateful you did them justice with the purchase of a new pair of Polk db3065's.
