I will not hesitate to show my disappointment with the RCA people for taking so long to figure out what was wrong with the last camcorder we bought from the company. My wife and I had to spend so much time calling them and the repairing shop to the point that we almost gave up and bought a new brand. They knew very well that there was a defective part which prevented the camcorder from recording. They insisted on getting it fixed after we had to purchase a new insurance. Now that we are looking at the replacement camcorder, it seems worth the pain of going without for so long.
Surprised to receive new camcorder weekend before Thanksgiving
My wife and I were elated to receive the new RCA CC6263. We went to pick it up at the local shop. The shop employee did not hesitate to state that this one is definitely better than the last one. To his remarks, I added, "I hope I don't have to keep my finger crossed. I don't want to count the days before something has to be fixed..." He replied, "No, no, no." Just by coincidence, my wife's best friend who was pregnant gave birth the same week. She asked her to come record her and her new baby girl. She wanted to have the memories of these emotional moments.
Kids like seeing themselves on tv
Great has been my son's reaction to the camcorder so far. This is the first time he knows that we've ever owned one. We started recording his play with his Tonka truck, train, and his dirt digging outside the residence. Then, on Thanksgiving day, we recorded some of the food preparations. You can easily imagine how the huge bird, the turkey became the star of the show. He wanted to take a peek at the video while we were recording..."Mommy, let'me shee for let me see". When all the meals were prepared, we also recorded him and our daughter helping to set the table. They were anticipating the arrival of one of their uncles to share the meals with. It was a a lot of fun. Then, at the end of the dinner, we just watched him laughing, provoked laughter whenever he saw himself doing something or getting into the pies on the table. Fortunately, we did not have a pie fight! For the longest time, my son was watching Barnie, Rugrats, Arthur, it was his time to watch himself on tv.
In general, kids like seeing themselves participating in their activities. It was quiet time the whole time.

If you are thinking about purchasing a camcorder, this one can be it. At least, you can give it as a gift.
