| silverx10's Full Review: Olympus Camedia D-360L Digital Camera |
The Olympus D-360L digital camera was a god-send when I got it. It was the best camera that I'd gotten in my entire life. Better than both the Mustek VDC-3500 and the Sony digital camcorder that I've got (which in no way was meant to be used primarily for stills, by the way). The maximum image resolution of 1024x768 blows every camera that I've had clear out of the water, and the detail that I've managed to capture in each shot has seriously brought life to photo opportunities that would've otherwise just been plain ordinary pictures. Using a 64Mb SmartMedia card (not included), you can hold a maximum of 146 images under high quality (JPG-compression) format, and more than twice that amount under standard (640x480 (JPG-compression)) quality mode. The flash is unbelievably bright, and can illuminate pitch black areas in a split-second. The downside of the flash, however, is that it drains batteries like you wouldn't believe. It is because of this, that I'd recommend either not using the 1.8" LCD display more than you have to, or by purchasing rechargable AA batteries. The shutter speed also lags a bit, but this isn't really a problem for the majority of shots that I take during the course of an average outing.
