| thedannym's Full Review: Rockford Fosgate FRC2205 Coaxial Car Speaker |
|
Rockford fosgate is a well known name in car audio especially in western canada where I live. I wanted a set of 5 1/4" speakers for my car, I went to future shop and listened to many different brands and models including pioneer, sony, kenwood, and koss, and these speakers were much much clearer and produced much cleaner sharper mids and highs. They were almost equal in sound to a set of Infinity 5 1/4"'s That I listened to that were $400.
Installation of the speakers was a breeze. The manual was complete and accurate. The set comes with 20 ft of wire which is really a plus and also comes with matching speaker grills.
These speakers perform great, although they really shine with mid and high frequencies, they do a surprisingly good job with lows also. They, by no means, compare to a set of subs. but they do a pretty good job with lower tones, anything above 100cycles. This is not a paper cone speaker, It is made of highly durable polyproplene and had a neodyne tweeter.
I have really nothing bad to say about these speakers, they have a max wattage of 80w and that may be too low for some high output systems, I myself run the speakers off my head unit which puts out 45w per channel and it powers these speakers just fine.
