| civic007's Full Review: JBL P180.2 Car Amp |
This amp is amazing, I have 2 of these things powering a set of Infinity Perfect 6.1's and a pair of Infinity Kappa 693.5i's and there is no distortion at all. The power on these is said to be 90 watts rms at 4ohms, but I think that this is a very modest number, JBL has a tendency of under rating their amps. Heat is no problem what-so-ever with these, they use the whole shell as a heat sink and you can tell. Even on the longest trips(upstate NY to Myrtle Beach SC being a good example) there is no overheating even when blasting it. The size of this thing is remarkable for the power and sound it produces. I have 2 of these and it's bass counter part the bp600.1 mounted to the back of my rear seat in my civic, which as you probibly know isn't a huge car. Price can range from way too much, to under what you think you should be paying, look around on the internet, there are some really awesome deals out there, just keep your eyes open. Power consumption is minimal, i have 960 watts of JBL amps in my car with a 1 farad capacitor and nothing more than the stock electrical system there is no dimming or fading at all. As you can see, the looks of this amp are outstanding, what looks more bad @$$ than a black chunk of metal with a red glow comming from it? Final thoughts... staying true to its JBL name, this is a wicked amp and I'll never buy any other brand of amp.
