Pros: Good Looks, Great Price, Awesome Features, and Ease of Use.
Cons: My friends get drool on it!
The Bottom Line: If you want lots of features and power without a huge price you need to get a JVC receiver, the RX-8010VBK in my opinion is the best value.

| schumajb's Full Review: JVC RX-8010V 5.1 Channels Receiver |
I purchased this unit because my old JVC receiver just quit working. I was in a way, upset my old receiver quit working but I was due for a new receiver with more features so my hunt began. I knew right away I wanted JVC, the price to feature ratio is much higher than other brands. I was actually surprised to find what I could get for this price. Look for yourself!
Most modern receivers from most major brands are generally the same in the price range $300-$600 price range. They all have Dolby Digital/DTS decoding, Pro logic, 5 channels of high power output, front A/V inputs, etc. I will talk about what makes this receiver different and in my opinion better.
One of my favorite features is the compulink control. You can easily control all your JVC components from one remote control and turn on your TV, DVD player, and Receiver with the push of just one button on your remote control! This model also has easy on screen menus to help you set up you system to your personal preferences without spending hours reading through the instruction manual. Everything was easy to set up and clearly marked. It powers my speakers with authority and the sound quality is excellent!
I also really like the 5 channel stereo feature. It allows normal 2 channel stereo sound from TV or music sources to be played through 5 stereo speakers rather than the normal 2 speakers. This really fills your room with sound.
The front USB audio input is a wonderful and unique feature if you plan to hook up your computer to your stereo. You can play your MP3's right through your stereo! This is a must have if you have 1000's of MP3's like I do!
This unit also has a high current power supply capable of handling 4 ohm loads, most home speakers are 8 ohm, so this means if you like you can connect 2 8 ohm speakers to each front channel.
The LCD remote is nice because you know what source you have selected and what you are adjusting. No more guessing!
I almost forgot, This is also a very good looking unit, It will look very impressive sitting in you home entertainment center as the heart or your system. I have gotten many compliments and when I tell people what I paid they can't believe it!
I invite you to check out this receiver at your local stereo shop and compare to other brands costing much more! I think you understand why I purchased this one! Nothing else even comes close.
As always it is best to compare many different units at a local stereo store and then when you find a few that interest you check out the internet for prices, you may be surprised how much you can save! I get most of my electronics for 30%-60% off the best price at the stores. When comparing prices remember you might have to pay sales tax at the store and shipping/handling from online stores/auction sites, this can make a big difference, be sure to factor in both costs when determining your total expense. Eventhough online prices are generally lower than those at a local store you may prefer to purchase at a local store for the service you will receive. If your unit has problems under warranty you can usually just take it back to the store and they will take care of getting it repaired. It is a pain shipping things yourself and can be quite costly, especially if it isn't fixed correctly the first time.
