I love this phone! I had some static problems with my last Panasonic 700mhz phone when I took it in the back yard. This phone with it's double antennae and extended range completely eliminates this problem. It is in constant use by my teenage daughter and seems to be holding up well. There are lots of features to this phone, probably more than the average person will use. One of the features I do use is the paging. This way, when I go out to the pool or garage, I can be paged by my family in the house and even have a call transfered to me. This keeps me from having to spend a lot of money on phone lines to the out buildings.
The plastic shield on the front of the caller ID does not have enough protection from getting scratched. I am disappointed at how many scratches are on it now from just ordinary wear and tear. This is a poor design because simply putting the phone on the counter can scratch the shield. After it has gotten scratched moderately, it is difficult to read. The phone has features we have yet to use and can be a little confusing at first, but now I can't imagine another phone without the intercom on it. Makes it easy to call my daughter, since the phone is always where she is. Caller ID is a great feature especially for the call waiting. Being able to dial using the base unit is a must for our home since our teen and the hand set are always missing. The speaker phone is better than most although I don't like them in any case. I would highly recommend this phone. I paid $149.99 at Best Buy and bought a 2 year replacement guarantee for another $19.99. Worth the extra for a phone overused by teens.
Update! I finally replaced the battery after 1 1/2 years of heavy use by my teenage daughter. The phone survived her abuse and over use and now she's moved out. Previous phones have not survived her, so this one deserves Kudos for quality of build. I would recommend this phone to anyone.
