I purchased my 12w3d4 recently after an unfortunate shredding of my previous subwoofer. I have been a car audio enthusiast for quite some time and have had all the major brands in one car or another, yet I always seem to find myself coming back to JL for the best sound, and quality equipment. If you are looking for an SPL beast, look nowhere else, or If you have an acute ear for SQ, this is also the sub for you. JL Audio has given this sub a 250w RMS rating (which I find very under rated) The truth of the matter is I have a 12w3 d-4 wired in parallel so it is running at 2 ohms, and an amp giving it 450w RMS and this sub is holding up like none other. Most subs I have had with this amp have wound up medium-well, but this sub can take the punnishment and seems to want more. I have it mounted in a small sealed enclosure (.88 cubic ft.) Stuffed with 1/2 pound of poly-fill. (To give the illusion of a larger box) The actual recommended size box is 1-1.25 cubic feet for a sealed enclousure. I plan to purchase 5 more of these beasts to install in my 97 Eclipse. I would HIGHLY recommend these subs to ANY audio enthusiast! If you are into SQ, or just dishing out headaches to those neighbors you "love" so dearly, THIS is the sub for you!
