My son actually never really took a great interest in this toy, but at age 5 he still occasionally plays on it. It is a little pricey, considering he hardly plays with it. He and I have talked about selling it if we needed the money, and he doesn't seem to mind the thought of life without it, so there you go.
In general, it is a colorful, fun, versatile playground. We used ours with our Little Tykes sprinkler pool and that was a lot of fun (set the base of the short slide into the pool itself, making sure there were no rocks or sharp things nearby in case kiddo just kept sliding!).
It washes easily, just hose it off, and scrub with a brush for the ground in dirt. I like how it doesn't come apart once you've assembled it. I even move mine across my yard to mow, and as long as I hold the window edges of both houses while I'm sliding it, it stays together fine.
I do have a rebuttal to all the complaints I have heard about the assembly. Before I knew how to assemble this correctly, I pulled a groin muscle trying to put it together :) However, I found this very easy to put together, when I finally figured out how to do it CORRECTLY and in the right order, e. g. connect the tunnel to two sides first making sure everything is right side up and where you want it, and don't try connecting the tunnel to the two finished houses. I was even able to do it by myself, without the instructions! Although, it is helpful to have someone holding the female part still for you, while you insert the male part, I managed to put this thing together all my myself in less than an hour. If you look at the male pieces and the female pieces they go in, it's very easy to see that the male parts don't just have tabs that pop straight out, they have hooks on them. So, they don't just POP together, it's more like a dovetail type of deal - you have to slide it in at the right angle and push it into place. You can even stand up on the staggered part ever so slightly, to push the hook into place once you've connected the pieces at the right angle. That's what I found to be easiest.
