sand shark's Full Review: 965 International Baitcaster
I purchased a 965 International because I knew from experience that the other Internationals were great reels, and I need a baitcaster for light saltwater, and medium freshwater. It filled this spot nicely with its smooth round frame that fits my hand well. It is loaded with features that I like and need like a smooth drag that has never failed in nearly two years of hard fishing, and a clicker that is out of the way on the bottom side of the left frame plate. The clicker has enough tension for live bait and bottom fishing for catfish in freshwater and drum in saltwater, and is loud enough to hear from several feet away. The cast control is not the best I have ever used but is adequate for most things you would want to do with a medium size baitcasting reel such as throwing plugs of 3/4 ounce or more and tossing a bait and bottom rig from a pier.
