Some times my fat as ever cat, Junior can well to put it nicely be finicky. Most people would say a pain in the you know what but he is after all my son so I should at least try to go with the flow when he refuses to eat his food. Usually each day I try to switch it up and have a 9Lives Rotation going from ground to shredded to sliced to flaked, but lately I just had 9lives Super Supper and he seemed to be living it up. Not today though. Today he turned his nose up to his dish and when I know my fat cat refuses to eat, there is definitely something going on. Either he is on his death bed or I have just screwed up and fed him what he deems as not edible at that moment.
So since my fiancé was planning on going to the store already for some items, I asked him to pick up something else for Junior. He brought back a pizza, some mint chocolate chip icecream, some Diet Code Red Mountain Dew, and I got carried away there for a moment. He also got 9Lives Sliced Chicken in Gravy. Sounds delicious, doesnt it? Makes your tummy rumble. I know it did because that is how Junior felt.
So I took the 5.5 oz can and started pulling on that top tab and Junior came a running, or should I say charging, at me. You would have thought I had a filet mignon in that can the way he was acting when I was dishing it out into his bowl.
Here are the feeding recommendations that 9Lives gives you, but my Junior wants no part of that. I say just feed according to what your cats needs are.
The feeding recommendation on the can: Feed an adult 6-8 lb. cat or a 3 lb. kitten one can twice a day. Adjust as needed for your cats age and activity level.
The sliced chicken is in little edible squares of about a centimeter in length and width and lots of that light brown gravy. It smelled okay to me, not a fishy smell like 9Lives Super Supper. I would say more on the side of, well Chicken sounds about right. Hence the name, 9Lives Sliced Chicken in Gravy. It was soft to the touch and easy for him to eat with his tiny little mouth. However he must have loved the gravy because he licked all of that off first before he started in on the actual food itself.

I also discovered that 9Lives makes two other flavors in the sliced area of their line which are:
1) Beef in Gravy
2) Veal in Gravy
This is the first Sliced Version we have attempted at with the Chicken as in the past I had bought the beef which didnt go over all that well as I remember. I love Junior but sometimes he is a tad bit ridiculous, but then he gives me this look that says you made me this fat, deal with it. So we found out that the 9Lives Sliced Chicken in Gravy was a thumbs up by his standards and we will continue to look for other selections in the 9Lives Family as time passes on.
I found out a little bit more information on the Morris Points for you 9Lives Lovers out there. I am trying to get a Morris Plush Collectible which you need 40 points in order to get one. They look really cute on their website, www.9Lives.com.
Actually before I get to the points, I would just like to take this moment to say that they have a really cool website. There is a pet library where you can look up pet training for dogs and cats. There are some free offers for screensavers and such. There is also a feedback form that you can fill out about the products. Lastly they have a how your pet got their name thing going on right now. I entered Junior, of course. Onto the points though
.
The points system goes like this:
16 oz dry food = 5 Morris Points
3.5 lbs dry food = 10 Morris Points
7.0 lbs dry food = 20 Morris Points
18 lbs dry food = 20 Morris Points
The 9Lives 5.5 oz cans = 1 Morris Point
The 9Lives 4.0 oz. Gourmet cans = 2 Morris Points
So you can save up for your plush collectible Morris as I am as your cat is able to feast on some tasty Sliced Chicken in Gravy. I high recommend that you give it a go. It is only $.99 cents for four cans, where can you go wrong with that? My Junior may be able to fill up a small baby couch but he also knows good food when he smells it. So give your cat the best in 9Lives with Sliced Chicken in Gravy!
Until Next Time,
K Parsons
