Want a semi-automatic stapler? - Look no further! This stapler holds standard staples and staples with ease. The PaperPro stapler has a cool look to it (I have the blue and black one) and is lightweight. It not only sits as a regular stapler but can also sit on end. It is made of plastic with a rubberized bottom to it so it is softer on the hands. It also fits nicely in your hand if you want to hold it to staple (no awkward edges).
It is semi-automatic because you just have to gently push down on the top and it staples you papers. You don't have to push hard on it. It can do up to 20 sheets of paper pretty much effortlessly.
When you open it to load the staples or use it for tacking, make sure you don't have the part that staples facing anyone in case you push on the top and a staple flies out! After you open it (which is very easy), just pull the staple holder out and insert staples. Push it back in and close the stapler back up and you are ready to go! There is even an illustration on it to show you how to open up the staple refill area. Since it is translucent, you can see when you are in need of staples.
When using as a tacker, just be careful that you don't push on the top with it pointing at someone. A staple could come it. It is not that sensitive, but you can never underestimate your own strength! The easy touch tacker and it being light weight makes it simple to use to hang up those important papers.
I have had mine for several months without a jam.
The price is a bit high, but good staplers start about $10 and they are usually heavier and not as hand friendly as this one. I got mine for $15 at an office supply store.
I would say that this stapler is a good buy for someone looking for an easy to hold, easy to use stapler. It is good for people who have arthritis or other joint problems since it does not require a lot of effort to push it down. It is also pretty small (around 5 inches). There is a pretty good selection in colors as well.
