| Freak369's Full Review: ADAMS BUSINESS FORMS Adams While You Were Out Mess... |
Theres nothing worse than not getting a message, unless its getting a message two or three days later. When the boys started getting phone calls and we added another phone line for my brother, things got more than a little chaotic and a lot of messages started getting scribbled on the backs of pieces of paper, grocery lists and whatever was within arms reach to write on. This meant a lot of missed calls or message that werent discovered until days later. We tried several different styles of message pads and notebooks but none of them really worked efficiently until I picked up the Adams While You Were Out pads. These were inexpensive, can in standard office pink or a neon assortment and could be left at every single phone [with a pen of course] so no one could use the there wasnt anything to write on excuse.
Adams While You Were Out Message Pads
The message pads are packed 50 to a tablet with 12 or 24 tablets per package. If you go through a lot of message pads or have a lot of phone traffic, the 24 pack of tablets is the best way to go youll never run out and youll end up saving some money. The pads are broken up by a thick cardboard backing so each of the tablets can be used independently without the pages coming loose. There are areas on the page for the following information: name, date, time [plus AM and PM], name of the caller, company name, phone number [area code, number, extension], fax number [area code, number, extension]. There is also a small urgent box on the top right corner that can be used to prioritize messages or arrange them for call backs. Below this section there are six boxes that can be checked telephoned, came to see you, returned your call, please call, wants to see you and will call again. The bottom section has seven lines for a lengthy message plus a line for the person who took the call or message to sign off on it.
Since this message pad offers you the ability to simply check off a box and fill in the time of the call and name, it can save a receptionist or secretary a lot of time writing out the same things over and over again. The lines on the pad give you more than enough room for all the information. This was one of the features I was looking for since my sons would be using these most of the time when I was out of the house or couldnt answer the phone. They are, to put it nicely, large writers so I needed a message pad that they could use more to the point a message pad that they could use and that Id be able to read. So far this has been the best choice aside from the Post-It Note ones that we initially started out with but havent been able to find for several months. These dont have the benefit of a sticky back like the Post-It Note brand but can be stuck up with tape, magnets or poster putty.
The sheets tear off the pad evenly and without any messy left over pieces a definite draw pack of message pads that come in a notebook format. There is a solid glue strip that holds the piece of the pad together and as I mentioned, each of the pads are separated by a thick piece of cardboard. You pick up the Adams While You Were Out Pads in packs of 12 or 24 at most office supply stores or retail stores that carry office supplies. I generally pick these up at Office Depot for about $3.49 for the 24 pack but if that is more than you need, the 12 pack sells for about $2.50. They come in the standard office pink pack or the assorted neon [neon costs a few cents more] so if you are looking for a way to organize messages or prioritize them, the neon pack is a great way to go.
Styles Available
You can pick up these message pads in the standard pink or in an assorted neon pack. They are both tagged with the same item number so if you are ordering these over the internet, make sure that you look to see which assortment is offered of you might end up with something that you dont particularly like. For small offices, the neon ones offer you the ability to assign each person receiving the message a certain color or for larger offices you can use the colors to mark the urgency of a call. Both styles of message pads are identical and have the same information listed above, the only difference is the color.
The Bottom Line
Whether for home or office use, the Adams While You Were Out Message Pads can be a real asset when trying to eliminate missed calls or messages. Theres plenty of space at the bottom for leaving a detailed message and the six check off boxes can be a real time saver when the calls are pouring in. These are inexpensive yet well made so theres never a risk of the pages falling all over the place when you tear a few from the pad. If you are looking for a way to organize messages, I highly suggest that you check out the Adams While You Were Out Message Pads at your local office supply store or view a sample sheet at an online retailer of office goods.
