I recently installed Tiger on my iBook and it is really another great upgrade for Apple. It is really a major OS revision but the additions of sleek new features and lack of problems installing make it seem like a major upgrade rather than a major revison which tend to have bugs and glitches.
It should be noted that if you have alot of 3rd party software and hardware installed on your system you should make sure you check with the manufacturers of these products to see if there are any known issues. Most problems occur with 3rd party products. The major players such as Adobe should be fine, it is the shareware and smaller companies to look out for.
The coolest feature is dashboard because the possibilities for different widgets seems endless right now. It really is a smooth upgrade less than 30 minutes for me and no data loss or reconfiguring necessary.
