If you are just starting out in the world of digital recording, you could do what I did, namely devote countless frustrating hours into learning how to make decent sounding recordings, via the trial and error method. You could also search the Internet for video's that are made by other amateurs who are generously taking the time to post brief tutorials regarding how to perform various tasks. The trial and error method of learning does work when it comes to learning how to use a product like Cubase 5, and there is also some useful and informative home made video's on YouTube and other sites that are posted by other well meaning amateurs who are only too willing to lend a helping hand and share their insights. However, both of these methods of learning how to use a product like Cubase 5 are very time consuming as well as very labor intensive. There is however a simpler, better, and more sequenced way to learn how to use Cubase 5, and that is to pick up the ASK Video Cubase 5 Tutorial DVD Level I. The ASK Video Cubase 5 Tutorial DVD Level I has a list price of $56.95, but I was able to pick up a copy at a discount for as little as $37.95, and I am glad that I did.

Do I have any complaints about the ASK Video Tutorial DVD Cubase 5 Level I? The answer is, "Yes I do." It seemed that many times during the Level I Tutorial just as the instructor Steve Kostrey was describing a recording technique or feature that was very interesting, he would stop in mid-explanation, and would say that the feature or techniques that was just being discussed would be covered in more detail in the next DVD. This was a bit irritating, and it really seemed as if this was a ploy to get the viewer to purchase Level II of the Cubase 5 DVD Tutorial.
In sum, I enjoyed the ASK Video Tutorial DVD Cubase 5 Level I, and I feel comfortable in recommending it. It was also very clear that the instructor, Steve Kostrey really know what he is doing when it comes to Cubase 5.
Well I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my review, but now if you will excuse me, I must get back to practicing my guitar, and using Cubase 5.
