Pros: Easy setup, jumperless CPU/RAM settings, comes with a good software suite
Cons: Onboard audio, though this is only a con if you happen to dislike it.
The Bottom Line: Easily my favorite board to date. Ease of setup, good documentation and software, and elegantly designed.

| direwolf77's Full Review: ASUS A7S333 Motherboard |
I bought an ASUS A7S333 to replace my A7V266 (which had fried due to a faulty power supply). In a matter of 20 minutes or so, I was able to swap the mainboards, set all of the applicable jumpers (I had to set one, to disable the onboard audio) and reinstall my machine. The C: Drive in my old machine had been a 10,200 rpm SCSI hard drive, and it was smoked along with it's controller when the PowMax power supply went south, so I had to buy a temporary hard drive to replace it.
On PCPitstop.com, using their online benchmark, my A7V266 scored 862 with the SCSI hard drive. With an older, 5400 rpm 4gig IDE hard drive (ATA-66 no less) the A7S333, with the same CPU and DDR, scored a 911.
The board has it's own splash screen on startup, and the AsusProbe software is excellent for monitoring system heat and voltage. It is a smaller profile board, so the system cooling I have in place (2 intake, 1 exhaust fan, CPU fan, and the fan on my gForce 2 card) is more effective.
The board ran $67 at a recent MarketPro computer show, and I definitely would recommend it to anyone looking to build an AMD XP system.
