| skylam's Full Review: ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON, (32 MB) PCI Video Card |
This graphic card is surely a huge improvement from all previous versions of ATI's cards.
When comparing this graphic card with other brands like GeForce 2 GTS, Voodoo 4, this graphic card offers a much faster performance, greater graphic, and more detailed images than the competitors in its field. Because of the Hyper-Z technology, the card performs even better if you put it under a higher resolution.
I got my ATI card when I was working in ATI during my summer holiday.
1. I unwrapped the Gift box bundled with the card
2. I read the manual with covers some essential information on how to install the card.
3. I plugged the card into my system
4. I installed the necessary driver and software that comes with the graphic card
5. Everything goes well up this point!
I booted up my machine and found that everything displays much faster now! So since this graphic card is so wicked, I designed to play my game - Rouge Spear Covert Operations. When I run the game, I immediately noticed the difference between graphics produced from Radeon and graphic produced from my old GeForce 2 GTS. According to the graphic card’s specification, because Radeon contains a 4-vertex skinning, it has the ability to display more realistic images than GeForce 2 GTS which only has a 2-vertex skinning.
One problem did arise when I run the following games and applications: (The game crashes or just simply display a blank screen)
Rouge Spear
ShogunMicrosoft Windows 2000 Terminal Clients
I have emailed and phoned their technical support center, but received no reply.
The following is a breakdown of the card:
Performance: This card is the king of the hill. It runs even better when set to 32-bit color mode.
Installation: Installation is straightforward. The manual includes almost everything you need to know in order to install the card.
Application: All the programs included with the card are easy to setup and use.
Manual: Very helpful for beginner. A lack of information for advanced user nonetheless.
Compatibility: BAD compatibility with some old games and old programs!
Technical Support: The WORST Technical support service I seen. No reply from all the questions I have sent to them about incompatibility.
I recommend this card to anyone who likes to play games!! Although this card may not be the best of the bunch, but it sure worth the $260 price tag!
