Recently I decided to delve into the computer world of video capture. I knew I needed a card that would talk to my camcorder in order to grab the video I wanted. After looking around for about a month and asking questions on-line, I finally decided to go with the All-In-Wonder since I have had good luck with the ATI products in the past and several friends recommended it.
I have been nothing but pleased since. With this little doozy, I can grab images from my camcorder (it is an analog camcorder) via the S-Video capture cable, edit the video on my computer, and then burn the compiled video on a cd with my cd burner. If I wanted to, I could also lay the video back to tape.
What else could you want? How about the ability to watch TV on your PC? This card comes with a built in TV Tuner that you can even hook a cable connection to. Cool, eh? I sat and watched the first rounds of the NCAA Tournament on my computer while surfing the web.
As there all with all good things, there are some downs to this product. First, to take full advantage of all the features you MUST be using Windows98. Some of the features in the Video player will not work with NT or 95. In addition, since this card only captures through S-Video or RCA jacks, there is some picture quality loss. In fact, now that I am doing a lot of video editing, I purchased a digital camcorder and a new Pyro FireWire card to capture video with no signal loss. but I still use the All-In-Wonder for many video captures and to watch TV.
For those of you wanting to edit video at home with your traditional analog camcorder, I would recommend the All-In-Wonder. It's a great graphics card/TV Tuner/Video Capture Card.
