| Jmlsammy's Full Review: ATI RADEON, (32 MB) AGP Video Card |
The Radeon 32 megabyte 3d card is a good choice for gamers who don't have enough money for the better or the best, but want good performance. First off, what comes in the pretty box? Basically all you get is a driver cd, a small manual, a ferrite monitor cable kit request card, and of course, the Radeon. The installation procedure went well, and the driver install was easy.
The Radeon 32 DDR card performed well in games such as Midtown Madness 2, Boarder Zone, Half-Life, NHL 2001, Superbike 2001, Frogger 2, Motocross Madness 2, & F22 Lightning 3. One game that I had problems with was Need for Speed High Stakes- I got real slow performance.
The DVD performance is excellent using the included ATI DVD application. The picture quality is crystal clear and the frame rate is fluid.
The only downside of this card is the drivers. They aren't real good. At this time ATI hasn't really released any offical drivers that really make this card shine. Hopefully soon we will see ATI release new ones that will bring this card to full performance.
Overall I would recommend this card to anyone who can't afford the best of the best but still wants fast & clear gaming.
