Thank you very much for your comment. I must have missed this when I went through the user manual in a hurry. This has been one of my best and longest-lasting answering machines so far, so I appreciate any tips on how to customize it to my precise preferences. Thank you.

I have this phone, and I just wanted to let the author of this review know that the audable message alert can be disabled. I personally love the feature because I'm blind, but if you press and hold down the menu key, which is right below the time/date button, you'll be able to go through a menu and turn off the audible message alert AKA the beeping every 10 seconds when new messages are received. I hope this helps you get more enjoyment out of your machine; the only feature I wish it had was remote room moniter.
