Since someone rated this topic just today, here's an update on AT&T service (both TELCO and UVERSE. We upgraded to 12MBps service after buying a Cisco RV-0042 dual port router. Comcast on one input and AT&T on the other. In theory if both ISPs are delivering what they promise, I could expect to see down load speeds up to 24MBps (12MBps from Comcast plus the 12MBps from AT&T) but that has been RARE at best.
We had to go this route because neither ISP can maintain a solid connection to our neighborhood. Having both made sense at first. Here's the current speed test on the Comcast side since AT&T was down: 6.8m/3.5m (Down/Up). 20 minutes later, Comcast delivered 16.2/3.4 See: http://www.dslreports.com/testhistory/531983/ddf5d
The handwriting is on the wall for TELCO! http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Telcos-See-Net-Loss-in-Broadband-Users-For-First-Time-120762
"Peter Svensson at the Associated Press notes that phone companies collectively lost broadband subscribers last quarter for the first time ever. According to the AP, the top eight largest phone companies lost a collective 70,000 broadband subscribers on the quarter, while the top four cable operators saw a net gain of 290,000 subscribers. As we've been discussing, AT&T and Verizon no longer much care about residential broadband. They consider these networks too expensive to upgrade and would rather focus on wireless services."
The "ISP Tar Pits" await AT&T Dinosaur who seem to care less about service delivery or customer service.

Thank you for the warm reception and suggestion.
I want to be objective rather than subjective concerning our experiences with AT&T. I've been pretty patient with them, all things considered. A decade is a long time when it comes to the cable issues, 18 months of waiting on Engineering for a quote and now, the issues with U-verse installation.
We'll start with the performance of U-verse Internet Elite. At first blush, it's not what I expected but to judge it by that, would not be fair. We have to look more closely at what is being advertised (reading the fine print too) versus what is being delivered.
For the benefit of our neighborhood, we'll upgrade along the way so we can respond to other review options that seem to apply to video and audio.
The central question at the moment is what should consumers reasonably expect from 6Mbps U-verse Internet Elite?

I'd like to comment about your review which does help consumers however you basically only covered the "Customer Service" aspect. Once you're up and going plus spend some time using the service, would you please consider updating your article? This is of course completely optional.
Here are examples of 3 more areas that I feel would be of some benefit:
Sound:
Picture Quality:
Basic Channel Selection:
The update link is on the reviews page view near your member information. Only you cane see it while logged in.
Thanks.
