I have had this blood pressure monitor for over two years. I first purchased it in the 6th month of my first pregnancy when I had to closely monitor my blood pressure due to pre-eclampsia. I would take my blood pressure just about every hour on the hour and when it hit a certain level, I was bed-rest-bound for the duration of the day, be it 9am or 4pm.

I work for a health system and we have a medical equipment and supply business as part of the system. I counted on my professional friends working there to steer me in the right direction.
They set me up with the A&D UA 767 One-Step Auto Blood Pressure Monitor and I was good to go. Easy to operate and read the results, and very accurate if used correctly with fresh batteries.
First thing, insert 4 AA batteries. Then set the pressure gauge. You want to make sure that you set it higher than what you anticipate your systolic number will be. The systolic number is the top or higher number of the reading, for example a reading of 140/90, you want the top number of the gauge to be set higher than 140.
You can set it at 240, 210, 180 or 150. If you purchased this to monitor high blood pressure, most likely your first setting will be 180. If your systolic blood pressure number reads over 180, call 911 immediately, you should be closely monitored in the hospital. Really. I'm not kidding.
Next, put the cuff over your arm. The bottom edge of the cuff should be at your elbow, placing the stethoscope gauge in the crook of your arm so it can read your pulse. Place it right where they typically take your blood. That's a vein with a very strong pulse. For some this may be in the middle of the crook, some to the right or left.
Next, tighten the cuff around your arm. Relax the arm resting on a table top and hit the big start button. The cuff will get tight and uncomfortable, but should not hurt you. If it hurts, hit the start button again for an emergency stop. Start again, but pull the cuff less tight.
Once complete the screen will show your blood pressure and pulse.
**** Important suggestion **** Make sure you test and use this machine before you leave the store. If there are NOT professionals available to assist you, go back to your doctors office and have your doctor or the nurse assist you with the use of this monitor. Blood Pressure is NOT something you want to be unsure about.
I'm currently in the midst of my second pregnancy. Yep, you guessed it. Blood pressure problems again. I just finished using my monitor again and I get to stay at work (ok hiding out on e-pinions) at least another hour.
I have been extremely happy with my monitor, and it has given me reason to be less anxious. I can have my blood pressure checked at anytime without running to the hospital or physician's office.
I paid $69 for this machine two years ago with my employees discount, and it has been money well spent. It's a monitor that's relatively simple to operate, understand and the results are very accurate. I would highly recommend this product.
