Pros:Great Rock and Roll, Nice Bonus Tracks not included in the movie, Queen
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: This is a great collection of Rock and Roll songs. It would be a great car CD. It was elemental in making the movie so much fun.
This is a great soundtrack. The Soundtrack is part of what made the movie so much fun. Its unusual to have a medieval movie sporting good Rock and Roll tunes instead of boring period music. This is an album that you can pop in your car and just let play. There are no bad tracks. There is only one non-song track. It has 3 bonus tracks that are not in the film.
1. We Will Rock You by Queen--what can I say? Its a classic, great way to start the movie and the album.
2. Low Rider by War--Nice song. Not one of my favorites, but it is play worthy. They played this during Williams Training.
3. Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive--Great song. Also a classic. I love this song. It was especially great for the scene it was used for which was for the first tournament.
4. Golden Years by David Bowie-- I am not a real big fan of Bowie, but I like this song. It has a haunting melody. It was great for the dance scene that they used it for.
5. Crazy on You by Heart-- This is one of the bonus tracks. This a great song that has a great guitar opening.
6. Further Up the Road by Eric Clapton--Great song.
7. Get Ready by Rare Earth-- Its all right. Good song, great beat.
8. I Want to Take You Higher by Sly and The Family Stone-- Great song, Great beat.
9. The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy--Another Classic. It is used when the Knights are back in London to compete in the championships.
10. One of Your Own by Carter Burwell--This is the non-song track. This is Chaucer introducing William in the final joust. It is short, so its not too annoying when you are playing the album.
11. We are the Champions by Robbie Williams and Queen--Robbie Williams does an admirable job with this song, but nothing is as good as the original. He just doesn't have the talent that Freddie Mercury had. It still a good song though.
12. Pieces by Dan Powell--This is a bonus track. I really like this song. Its a little slower than the other sounds. It has some great lyrics that would have fit in great with the movie, if they had used it. Its the next to last track and great for winding down the soundtrack.
13. Eye Conqueror by Third Eye Blind-- This is a bonus track. I am not a fan of Third Eye Blind, and have not listen to them much, but if this is typical of their work I may listen to them more in the future. Great song. Good beat. Good lyrics. Fits right in with the rest of the album.
This is a great album. If you like this kind of Rock and Roll then you probably have all these songs already, but its great to have them on one album to listen to in the car. I would recommend this to anyone who likes good rock and roll, even if you didn't like the movie.
