~~ Morph: My Favorite Writing Instrument ~~

Written: Nov 09 '05
Pros:Sleek design, comfortable grip, smooth writing
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: The Cross Morph pen is an excellent writing instrument that combines comfort, quality, and design.

My Cross Morph pens is one of my all-time favorite pens to use.

The Product
The Cross Morph pen is available at office supply stores such as OfficeMax. It is also available through Cross on its website (www.cross.com) and retails for $30.

My Experience
The Morph pen is very stylish. It is sleek in its design as it has an anodized aluminum finish that gives it that matte appearance. I like the contrast between the matte colored barrel and the chrome (clip, dial, and point). My brother and sister-in-law gave me the Morph pen as a graduation gift when I finished graduate school. My Morph pen is deep-peach colored; I am not sure that the deep-peach color is currently available. I have seen a blue and a red version on the Cross website, but not the peach.

The Morph pen is very comfortable to use. The grip is designed such that it can adjust to any grip. There is a bit of give in the silicone so the material will bend according to the forces that are applied. The grip is made of silicone and it has three slightly defined sides. It is difficult to describe, but imagine a pliable triangle that is filled with liquid and bulging at the sides. The grip is wonderful and easy on the hands; I like it in that it encourages me to use a tripod grasp to hold the pen. I try not to grip it too tightly as that leads to writer's fatigue. The ball-point is revealed with a simple and smooth twist of the grip.

Writing with the pen is wonderful! It is the pen that I use most often now because of its comfortable grip and the way it writes. The pen never leaves blotches of ink on the paper. That is one of my peeves. I despise a writing instrument that leaves a small glob of ink that will accidentally smear on the paper. Ugh!!! The Morph pen has never left a glob of ink. The ink flows smoothly and evenly onto the paper.

Overall Thoughts
The Cross Morph pen is an excellent writing instrument that combines comfort, quality, and design.

Thanks for reading!
