abed.com euphoria hard as a rock and not at all what I expected

The mattress has become much less "hard as a rock" and actually can not be considered hard like that any longer. I was surprised and have to admit that is in fact what happened though over some time. Now if the durability is there then this thing will be fine and actually mostly comfortable. The concern in the back of my mind at this point is the number of reviews in general I have read on this site about the memory foam in these products not nearly living up to its expectations in general (not specifically on products from this company exclusively) and I do hope that has been worked out not to be a problem by now. Time will tell, but if it holds up my recommendation has increased as the comfort level has increased after the initial period. What I like at this point is that when you lay on this you do sink into it a bit after the initial period to the point it is a bit conforming to the body but yet mostly supportive. It is difficult to quantify these things, but I am left with the impression that it is supportive, but not more supportive than I could ever imagine anything being. It is at this point comfortable though. I will keep this review updated if anything changes.
I have recently been in the market to buy a new mattress to replace my coil spring that has been great, but is about 25 years old and getting to the point of being well used. I had previously purchased one of these memory foam toppers from another source and was impressed. That had me very interested in a memory foam bed. The people at abed.com seemed very helpful and gave me a lot of confidence in what I thought to be a great choice. At first I was going to buy the lowest model (still quite a price tag) but then they talked me into the next one up, the euphoria because it was a little softer and more comfortable. I decided I ought to go with that thinking that the low end model of things are often "you get what you pay for" kinds of situations. I was told the euphoria is "like sleeping on a cloud" and supportive.
After a period of about four weeks including the hollidays in there I received the bed as promised. The entire transaction went very smoothly and I was pleased with the customer service. I have been sleeping on this bed for about four days and it is, I can also testify like someone else said in another review, HARD AS BRICKS!!!!!! I weigh about 165 pounds and am about 5 11 and am 31 years of age to give you an idea of my build and such. Parts of my body that spend any time laying against this thing are in pain for days and I can not sleep on a side that I previously slept on for more than a night or two at most without completely staying off of that side for at least a night. It feels like if I went out and laid on the parking curb I'd get a more comfortable night's sleep. If this is what a memory foam bed is about then they can keep it! I am not yet convinced this is a good representation of one though. I am still left wondering where they get this "like sleeping on a cloud" like I happened to be told. Reading early reviews a few years old of products purchased from abed.com many people are quite happy and describe it as very comfortable and such. I noticed when you get to the more recent reviews it sharply drops off. My guess is that these people had a very nice product or product line and then like many many companys decided they had built a reputation so it was time to cut their costs and drop some quality. I am often so angered by the fact that companies insist on doing that and that may be what happened here. Sleeping on this thing I am concerned for my body and hope I do not have any medical issues that result from it and that is a far cry from being comfortable and good for your health and well being!
