| veruca01's Full Review: Abed Latex Mattress |
After paying nearly 1500.00 for a queen sized mattress and box springs, one would assume that this magical mattress would last at least 5 years. Well, after lugging this very heavy mattress into my room, I was elated at the thought of my new mattress. Well, within 6 months, my back began to hurt and it was discovered that a fairly large dip was being formed in the center of the bed. Now, mind you, I am ONE person who is NOT fat sleeping in this bed and it was unable to retain its shape.
I contacted customer service who asked me to take pictures of the "dip." I did. They attempted to claim that it was the pillow top that was just mashed down a bit and to vaccum it?? What the heck? When two people are on the bed and both roll to the middle, logically, it cannot be blamed on the pillow-top. The pictures clearly revealed this. After much coaxing and convincing, I agreed to take a memory foam mattress (the Versailles), which was firmer... They mailed me at no charge the mattress and I kept the previous box springs. Well, if you are ready to inhale toxic fumes for quite some time, then get this mattress. Yikes, asthma city for me. I was told that it would take a few weeks for the smell to go away.. So, the mattress is sitting in my hallway, airing out while I sleep on the latex, caved in mattress.
I would almost prefer a good quality box springs to both of these mattresses. Just don't believe in all the hype and save your money.
