Hazy day for a beer (Reply to this comment)

Mark: Interesting review. (Note: the English government just hammered out an agreement whereby pints in England must now be 95% full.) I tend to steer clear of most raspberry brews. They always taste like cough syrup to me. Now, a Maine Blueberry ale is something else entirely. cheers

I always feel compelled (Reply to this comment)

to hoist an Abita or two when I'm visiting New Orleans, but steer clear of it the rest of the time. I haven't tried Purple Haze but I'll give it a whirl next time I'm in the Big Easy.

Great review, as usual, Mark.

I tried the Purple Haze for the first time about two months ago, as a drinking prelude to a dessert dish of Beignets. Wasn't too enthusiastic about the beer at the time, but will consider giving it another go later this Spring. Excellent review. BTW, this beer is pretty easy to find at most Trader Joe locations in So. California.

Cheers,
