Absolut Vodka and I have maintained a love-love relationship. I love to love it, and it, well, it just gets drunk. Either way I'm happy. Absolut Vodka is a fairly bitter brew, but so much for drinkable straight than other comparable vodkas such as Stolichnaya or Skyy. A shot will set off a warm tingling in your belly, right after it traverses the smooth descent that is the ride down your escape hatch of a mouth. Absolut Vodka even smells good, and can be quite easily used as a pre or a post dinner drink.
Mixing Absolut Vodka is an expensive way to enjoy your alcohol, but if you have the resources, it makes screwdrivers, ice-pics [not a spelling mistake], and Bloody Marys taste that much better. My personal favorite mix for Absolut Vodka (not that I can afford it, but still) is orange juice and ice in a blender, liquidate, and then add a shot or two of vodka around the top. Garnish (isn't it such a lovely word?) the drink with a slice of lime, and you have yourself the perfect summer poolside drink. And it looks good as well as tasting very nice.
The bottle itself (not to mention the marketing behind it) is a work of art, and these are bottles that you will most probably keep with pride rather than with an inability (or lack of care) in finding the garbage dump outside. The sexy curves, not to mention aesthetic top, make a lovely drop look almost as good as it tastes.
The only bad thing about Absolut Vodka is its price. At $19 a bottle, this isn't the kind of thing you drink with the boys on a Friday night on the way to declaring your head a braincell-free zone.
But with that special someone, this is just the treat. And besides, isn't that what money is worth spending on anyway?
Absolut Vodka. It rocks! (and even better on the rocks, too!)
