It all started with the advertisements in magazines. I love the creativity of the absolut vodka ads I saw in mags and I even pulled them out and put them up on my walls. I have always been a vodka lover, it is the first alcohol I ever tasted and is still to this day my favorite. The one thing that kept me from buying a bottle of absolut (besides the fact that I was underage) was the pure and simple fact that there were a lot of kinds of vodka out there that were a lot cheaper.
When I did finally get my hands on a bottle the first thing I did was open it up and smell it.... there was practically no smell. So I put it in the freezer to chill, a few hours later I pulled out the bottle and a shot glass (I always start my drinking with a straight shot) poured myself a shot and slammed it down.... there was almost no taste, it was almost like drinking a cold glass of water. Now to me this was a definite bonus. Skyy vodka almost made me puke when I took a straight shot, Monarch can be extremely harsh, Popov and Gilbert's are both pretty good but thet still smell and kinda taste like rubbing alcohol, but not absolut.
You can mix this stuff with just about anything, there are tons of popular drinks which contain vodka such as the white russian, black russian, long island ice tea, citrus neon, blow/job*, the list goes on and on. You can also simply mix it with your favorite juice or pop and it is virtually tasteless unless you mix a lot of vodka in it.
And the coolest part, when you are have polished the bottle off you can put it up on the shelf with all the other bottles you have conquered (you college guys know what I am talking about) they make a great dorm room decoration, and the absolut bottles are extra cool looking so they make all the other bottles dim in comparison.
*blow/job is actually a drink, it is written as in this manner because epinions wouldn't let me put it in as one word due to its offensive origin.
