Pros: delicious Northern Italian cuisine, flaming grappa
Cons: ladies, don't use too much hairspray (flaming grappa can be dangerous)

When I use to work at the big, bad law firm downtown, we always tried to schedule our summer lunches at Acappella even though our recruiting coordinator tried to discourage us due to the shockingly high bill that typically followed. Actually, I don't think the menu prices are so high, compared to other nice restaurants in the area. Rather, the servers always recited a long list of specials that made you want to toss away the menu, and those specials were much more expensive (especially since no one would ask about the cost of the specials before ordering, so the restaurant could pretty much charge whatever it wanted). The fish specials were always wonderful though as you mentioned in your review, and the servers quite charming. Is there a restaurant in Tribeca that you haven't tried, kboo? Love your style.

Hey kboo!

Wow, this is one place I have to get to soon! Perhaps when my big "private firm ship" comes in. Or when I hit the right lotto numbers! Chances of either are about the same. =) Thanks for the fabulously detailed review! It sustains me when I'm in the depths of a week of leftovers (it's been busy). Looking forward to reading more!

Sincerely,
Anna

I love the title. I got this bizarre image of people throwing fast balls using oysters for some reason. Great, thorough restaurant review. Too bad I don't live in the area.
