| wall3d's Full Review: Acer AL2216WBD 22 inch LCD Monitor |
I bought the Acer 22in AL2216W monitor to go with my new computer build. It was a little smaller than expected, but it was a major upgrade from my 15in CRT.
Sometimes you can't differentiate between white and a light blue look straight at the monitor. You have bring your head down and look up to see the difference - that part is really annoying. I wouldn't recommend it for video/photo editing; get a non TN panel for that.
I like to game, browse the web, and sometimes code/edit. This is quite good for gaming since it has a nice resolution size of 1680x1050.
I love browsing the web with this monitor because I can view so much content due to the high resolution once more. I can have my IMs on one side of the screen while my browser on the other. I like that I can fit a lot of icons on my desktop too.
When I edit images in Photoshop, I can edit my larger pictures with ease since I see so much without scrolling right to left or top to bottom.
I like the thinness of my widescreen LCD monitor. It's black and a widescreen perfect for those 16:9 movies. Also the 5 ms reponse timing is perfect for gaming, which means no ghosting! I love how HD material and my games look on this monitor, yet I long for a higher contrast ratio and more sleek looks.
