It doesn't suck, but it's nothing to write home about either...

Pros: Plug and Play capability. 1280x1024 resolution. Almost 16" viewable.
Cons: Heavy, it's 38 lbs. Gets a bit fuzzy at times.
The Bottom Line: It's a middle of the road monitor that does what it is suppose to do. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is a pretty decent monitor. It has 15.9" of viewable screen and weighs in at a whopping 38 lbs. This is not a compact screen. It is has large dimensions at 17.3" (Height) x 16.6" (Weight) x 18.0" (Depth). Therefore, you really need a hefty size table to support this monitor.
I have a decent video card (3DFX Voodoo3) but at times the monitor flickers and the screen pales in color for a few seconds. But then it always flickers back into the original colors. I assume this is a monitor problem and not an issue with my video card.
One neat thing is that there's no extra software to install in order to use this monitor, hence the "Plug and Play" functionality. Another function the monitor has is an " i key" which when pressed is supposed to automatically calibrate the screen. However, I have never seen a difference when I tried to use this function.
It has four buttons in the front to help you adjust screen characteristics. You can shift the monitor picture left, right, up, down and also change its shape to make it longer or shorter. There is also the basic: color, hue, contrast and brightness functions. I really like that these buttons are easily accessible. I don't have to flip any panels down or reach in the back to make the adjustments. Also, the buttons are slightly recessed so there's no chance of accidentally activating the buttons. I have bumped them quite a few times while sticking Post-its around the monitor (I am a Post-its fiend).
Overall this is a decent monitor for the money. But I am sure there is better out there for more money. But for under $250 bucks I really can't complain.
I find that durability is the monitors strongest feature. I have moved a couple times and it has not been damaged. I also leave it on all the time and with my screen saver it seems to function without too much drama, with an occasional hiccup here and there.
If this is all you can afford, I don't think you will be disappointed. But if you have money to burn, this monitor doesn't have the bells and whistles you may be looking for.
In ice cream terminology it's French Vanilla. It's not plain old Vanilla, but it's no Super Fudge Rocky Road Almond Mint Swirl Crunch either.
