I recently lost my Dell Laptop while in California and I have been looking around for an inexpensive laptop with basic features. I was at Walmart three weeks ago when I just happened to look over at their laptops, and they carry many brands.
I might be a little different than most people, but I like a laptop that has light colors withwhite keyboard with black letter keys and numbers. I can see them much better than dark. Boy did I hit the jackpot, this laptop not only has the basic features ,it is loaded with extra's.

Here are some of the features

It has a brilliant 15.5" monitor that has beautiful graphics with awesome tru to life colors. It comes with a built-in Web Cam, which has amazing clarity, and it is a one click operation to start the Web Cam.
It has the connections that most computers has, MIcrophone in-jack, Headphones/speaker and line out jack. One feature that I really like is the Kensington lock slot where can lock your computer to help protect your computer, having said that I am not going to tell you that a good thief can get access the the computer. It has the usual External ports and Ethernet port. It does have two USB ports on the left side and one on the right side. Ti also has a S-video out port.
It accepts one ExpressCard/54 module slot.

More Features

It comes with Dolby Home theater surround sound, which offers almost like being in the movies sound and what amazes me is how clear it is. The Intel high definition audio support has two built-in stereo speakers (2 W) and is MS-Sound compatible.

This unit bcome with Dual Layer DVD t/- RW/DVD-Ramx DVD this features CD and DVD recording. The speeds for CD are 24x and 8 X for DVD.

It supports from 80 to 200 GB or larger hard drive, my unit came with 120GB ATA. It comes with 1GB ram. Seamless esy touch mouse pad, I prefer a mouse to pad and convenient location of USB post for mouse. Microsoft Home Vista Premium and Intel Celeron processor.
The WIFI is supported by WLAN: Acer InviLink ans Acer Signal-up technology.

I could go on and on about the features but I think you get the picture. One other think it comes with one warranty and one year travelers warranty. The best thing about this marvelous laptop is the price. I paid $400.00 at Walmart. This Acer has many more qualities than my Dell had and is much cheaper price that I paid for the Dell. I am not taking anything away from Dell they make excellent computers, all I am saying is why by a mansion if a nice cozy little house will do the job. The battery snaps in very easy.
