Bracket Hanger for Birdfeeders or Flower Pots

Pros:Simple and sturdy for hanging a bird feeder
Cons:Not ornate, made in India.
The Bottom Line: Very plain and simple, which is what I wanted. Fits our needs well.
Brackets such as these can be found just about anywhere, and while many of them are ornate, we needed a simple hanger without any fancy scrolls or filigrees.
We've been using a plant hanger that has a hanger that extends from a long pole (about 5 feet or so), and you simply push it into the ground where ever you'd like. These are nice and portable, but although we bought expensive bird seed, none of the birds were eating it.
A neighbor suggested our bird feeder wasn't hung high enough, and suggested we place a bracket higher on one of the trees in our back yard. This Achla bracket was perfect for our needs.
It is made of black powder coated metal and claims to have a finish that is resistant to the weather. It has two holes on the 5" stem that adheres to a tree, home, garage, or other such place. It comes with two black screws so it's ready to install. The item looks like it's made of wrought iron, a look I've always been fond of.
Most of the brackets we looked at were curved upward, but this one is slightly different in that the end curves downward. There is plenty of space between the curve and edge to slip any kind of hanger over the hook.
I don't know how many pounds this would hold, but it is extremely sturdy and I would guess at least 25 pounds. The bars are about 1/2" thick so it's very substantial. Even though we are hanging a cedar birdfeeder from it, I would feel comfortable hanging a large potted plant. The bracket comes straight out and the metal is square in shape, which is supposed to add strength to the product.
I wouldn't screw this bracket onto our home from which to hang a flowering basket, but it is perfect for our needs, hanging a bird feeder from a tree. At the low price of $9 it won't break the bank.
I would gladly rate this bracket 5 stars, but the fact that it isn't made in the USA, but rather India, makes me want to deduct one star.
